Don Lummus

Communicator

 

 

Don Lummus joined the IAM in 2005. He hired into the Boeing Corporation that year as a Mechanic - Flight. Lummus' work on the Flight Ramp allowed him to work on a wide variety of programs including the Hornet, Goshawk, and Eagle fighters as they were undergoing final preparation for delivery to the customers. He also spent time in the Experimental department working on design modifications for Fleet and Production aircraft.

 

Don served as Shop Steward for 6 years and also performed the duties of Local Lodge B Negotiator for the 2010 Boeing Contract Negotiations. Don has filled several posts in the Local Lodge, such as Conductor/Sentinel, Trustee, Local Lodge B Pac Committee Chairman, St. Louis Labor Council Delegate, and now Recording Secretary, He was also elected as Grand Lodge Delegate to the 2012 Grand Lodge Convention for his Local Lodge.

 

In 2012, District 837 asked Don if he would be willing to serve as the District Communicator.

 

Don spent eight years in the US Navy as an Aviation Machinist Mate on the F-14 Tomcat. The training he received in the military, gave him the skills needed to perform his duties in the plant.
